Overview
About this model
Claude Sonnet 5.5 is Anthropic's fast model for everyday coding, bug fixes, document analysis, and agentic workflows. It accepts text and image inputs and produces text, with a 1,000,000-token context window and up to 128,000 output tokens. Adaptive thinking is enabled by default at high effort, with five levels: low, medium, high, xhigh, and max. It supports tool use, structured outputs, streaming, and prompt caching. Its knowledge cutoff is June 2026. Non-default temperature, top_p, and top_k settings are unsupported; between_tools turns off up-front thinking instead of disabled.
